Managing Mortgage Servicing Attorney Cindy Cohly graduated from Belhaven University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a minor in Political Science. She graduated from Mississippi College School of Law in 2000. After graduating, she became a prosecutor for the State of Mississippi in Child Support Enforcement with the Department of Human Services. After five years with the State followed by an additional two years of general practice in a private law firm focusing on family law issues, she left that field to pursue other avenues.

In 2008, she joined a private creditor law firm where she worked for fourteen years focusing on all areas of default servicing, including foreclosures, evictions and collections. While at this firm, she gained vast experience in litigation of these matters as well as in title curative litigation. During the pandemic of 2020, she also joined the US Small Business Administration where she was placed on a post-compliance team for the Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL). In 2022, she left both that firm and the government position to join McPhail Sanchez.

Cindy is licensed under the Mississippi Bar (2001). She is admitted to practice in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, the US District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi. Her practice primarily focuses on serving creditors in the areas of foreclosure, eviction, collection and bankruptcy, as well as defending creditors in claims under the FDCPA, FCRA, TILA, and RESPA.
